A regular cleaner in Uxbridge costs £23 an hour for each cleaner if they come weekly, or £24 an hour if it is fortnightly. Visits are three hours or longer, and we charge nothing for turning up. Three hours every week works out at £69. We do our best to send the same cleaner every time, because a person on their twentieth visit to your kitchen is quicker than one seeing it for the first time.
This service repeats on a rota and is paid by the hour. One-off jobs are priced differently, and that difference causes most of the confused phone calls we get.
Hourly rates
| How often | Each cleaner, per hour |
|---|---|
| Weekly | £23 |
| Fortnightly | £24 |
Weekly or every other week
Fortnightly is dearer by the hour for a dull reason. Two weeks of dust and splashes takes longer to clear than one, so the same three hours has more to do. Weekly tends to suit a busy house with children or a dog. Fortnightly suits a couple who tidy up as they go and want the proper clean every other week.
A three-hour visit in a semi
In a three bed semi, three hours usually gets through the kitchen worktops and hob, both bathrooms, the floors all the way round, fresh bedding if you leave it out, and a dust and vacuum of the bedrooms. Bathrooms take longest. Skirting boards and the inside of the fridge are done in rotation, since doing them every week would use up the time without much to show for it. Anything you want prioritised goes on the job sheet.
Ovens are booked separately as an oven clean from £77, so your hours stay on the house.
A longer first visit
Homes that have never had a professional cleaner carry a backlog, and three hours will get the kitchen and bathrooms into decent shape without anyone reaching the skirting boards. We suggest four hours the first time and three after that. Or we can chip away at the backlog over the first two or three visits at the usual price. You choose.
A day’s notice is all we need to move a visit.
Getting in while you are at work
Our regulars are mostly out at work while we clean. A few hand us a key. Key safes by the back door are more common, and one or two people work upstairs while we get on below.
We clean for a fair few people who work shifts at Hillingdon Hospital or live in the streets near it, and we can usually work around a rota. Night shifts are the tricky one. Up in Ickenham a lot of the fortnightly houses have a mid-morning slot while the house is empty.
Limescale every visit
Water here comes off the Colne valley chalk, and it is hard. A shower screen fogs up within a fortnight, a white crust grows round the base of the taps and the kettle needs descaling every month or so. Our cleaners carry descaler and do the screen each visit. Caught weekly, scale wipes off in a minute; left for six months it needs an hour of soaking. In a shared house where five people use one bathroom, the shower head packs up first.
When you need something else
People ring for a deep clean and then describe a weekly cleaner, or ask for a cleaner when they want a one-off. The names get tangled. A one-off deep clean is a team of two for at least three hours at £26 an hour each plus £30 for equipment, which is why it starts at £186. Moving out is a third service again, and for that you want the move-out clean, priced by the number of bedrooms.
We bring the machines and the cleaning products. Happy to use yours if you ask, though we still bring a vacuum because household ones do not last long under our kind of use. Our other Uxbridge services are on the home page.
Questions we get asked
How much does a regular cleaner cost in Uxbridge?
Weekly: £23 an hour per cleaner. Fortnightly: £24. Nothing for calling out, so three hours every week comes to £69.
Why is the fortnightly rate higher?
A fortnight of mess takes longer to clear than a week of it, so each visit has more to get through. Hence £24 and not £23.
Do I keep one cleaner?
Yes. If yours is ill or away, a cover cleaner who has been briefed on your house comes instead, and we warn you first.
Do you bring cleaning equipment?
Yes, machines and products. Prefer your own products? Say so at booking. We still bring a vacuum, because home ones rarely cope with professional use.
Do I need to be home?
No, most regulars are out. Leave a key with us or put a key safe up.
Or ring 020 8077 5828. We answer seven days a week.
