Who rents near the station
Since the Elizabeth line arrived, one bed flats near the station have been taken by people commuting into central London, alongside the Heathrow workers who were always here. That shifted the turnover. Neither group moves on a university timetable; most run on twelve-month lets. So our move-out work in West Drayton is spread through the year instead of bunching up in June like it does in Cowley. Some landlords here have the same flat cleaned twice within eighteen months.
Quick turnarounds in small flats
A one bed flat takes two cleaners about four hours if it has been looked after, and a full day if not. The shower is where it usually goes wrong. Hard water from the chalk leaves a film on the screen that a tenant has wiped at for a year without shifting. We take the screen off where the fittings allow, soak it and refit it, and the clerk sees clear glass.
Balcony doors are the other issue. Grit blown across from the station car park packs into the runners and a vacuum nozzle will not lift it, so we dig it out with a stiff brush and then wipe. About ten minutes a door.
Getting in around shift work
Plenty of tenants here work airside on rotating shifts, which makes a fixed weekly slot hard to keep. A key safe fixes most of that. Hourly housework is £23 weekly and £24 fortnightly for each cleaner, and a key is far better than a phone call at half seven asking us to come back tomorrow.
Landlord carpets
Carpets in UB7 lets are usually cheap loop pile in mid grey, which hides a lot of dirt until suddenly it shows all of it. Grey forgives. Hot water extraction lifts most of it out. Bedrooms cost £36 and stairs £41 a flight on our carpet price list, with living rooms at £43.
Heading back towards Uxbridge
Yiewsley is directly north and we often do the two together. Beyond it the town centre is ten minutes up the road, and we charge nothing for travel either way. If a property has stood empty or just had work done, a one-off deep clean at £186 is usually a better fit than a move-out clean. Tell us which it is.
