Cowley sits south of Uxbridge town centre in UB8, running down along the Grand Union Canal, and no part of our patch sees more tenants come and go. About two thirds of our work here is move-out cleaning. Landlords tend to book several houses at once. Tenants who ring late usually get a Saturday slot.

The June rush in the student houses
From most of the licensed shared houses on Cowley Road it is a short walk to Brunel on Kingston Lane. Five or six bedrooms is normal, a kitchen on every floor is common enough that we plan for it, and tenancies end in June before the houses re-let in September. So for a fortnight or so in early summer almost every job we do is a shared-house move-out, often with two or three ovens in one visit. Ring early. Landlords who call in May get the day they want; those who call on the last Friday of June mostly do not.
The landlord’s usual worry
In a shared house, deposit arguments almost always come down to the kitchen and one bathroom. Six people use both and none of them feels responsible. We photograph those rooms before we leave. If a clerk marks something down within 48 hours we go back and redo it free, and in a five bed house that usually means one shelf and a grill pan. Landlords with several houses off Cowley Road often hand us the lot and we work through them over a week.
Flats by the lock
The blocks around Cowley Lock are nothing like the student houses. They are small, newer and cold on the ground floor, so carpets there dry slowly and we leave an air mover running as standard. If a flat has stood empty for a while, or has just had work done, a deep clean from £186 usually suits it better than a move-out clean. The lock is a nice spot if you have never walked down there. It has nothing to do with your quote; it is just the best part of the walk between two jobs.
Next door

No, they match central Uxbridge: studios £156 up to four bedrooms at £425, with £207, £243 and £339 in between. An oven is added on for £31. Big shared houses are priced over the phone.
Do you clean student houses in Cowley?
Lots. Mostly five and six bed conversions off Cowley Road, often with two or three kitchens. Book by mid-May for the June changeover, because the last two weeks fill quickly.
